FAQ

Q. Is witchcraft evil?
A. Good question! That question is loaded. Magick, the main component of witchcraft can be influenced in a number of ways- positively, which is referred to as white magic, negatively or black magic and indirectly, which we call gray magic. The term ‘evil’, I believe, has lost its meaning over the last few centuries. Magic can be used to cause harm or put a negative influence into the world, however, the Threefold Law states that whatever you send out into the world will come back upon you three times (threefold, 3x).

Q. What about Wicca?
A. No. Wicca is in no way evil, and in no way promotes wrong-doing, negative influence, or bad energy.

Q. Do you worship Satan?
A. Simple answer- no. In fact, Wiccans do not believe in Satan, the devil, or ‘Lucifer’ as the Judeo-Christian records call him. Often times you will hear in pop culture, the term ‘satanic witch’. This term is false, because witches do not believe in Satan!

Q. What is magic(k)?
A. I prefer to spell it with a ‘k’, but I do not mind it in its common form. Magick means different things to different people. I believe that magick is the ability that one attuned with the planet and the universe has to project their will and intent into the world to cause change. This is done through attuning (connecting oneself), calling upon the God and Goddess (and others if necessary), calling the elements (earth, air, fire, water, and spirit) and using physical (and sometimes spiritual) implements to focus that intent into an energy that, in turn, causes change to happen. Magick however, also blankets divination (using ones attunement and special tools to read a person’s past, influences, personality, and fate), herbology (charging and using special combinations of natural herbs to heal, protect, banish, etc.), and astral projection (stepping outside the physical body to further attune or even just to explore). Magick is governed by the Threefold Law and the Laws of Nature, and controlled by those who attune themselves to the universe around them.

Q. Can I be a witch?
A. You sure can! Most recommend to take a year and a day (366 days from when you start) and learn as much as you can, without practicing or performing any actual ritual or spell. Gather books, information, meet people, ask questions, meditate on the God and Goddess (often times, one’s patronage will come to them in some form or another), feel nature, focus on the cosmos and feel the energy around you. Not everyone is going to feel it, unfortunately. There may be negativity in your heart or around you that is preventing it. But that’s okay! It isn’t a bad thing. The best thing to do is continue your learning, and one day, you will feel it come to you.
